CCYS String Audition Materials

All students will be asked to hold some long tones and to play a short sight reading excerpt provided at the audition

All Strings:

• 1 major and 1 melodic minor scale of musicians choice. 2 octaves required, 3 preferred.
• Two contrasting movements (one slow, one fast) from the same work, or two contrasting works. Each excerpt should be about 2 minutes in length.
